The Thai government's direction of automotive industry development is in line with the future demand for cars in the global market which focuses on high-tech and  eco-friendly vehicles. For  examples, many EU countries have restricted the use of fossil fuel-cars in some cities starting in 2019 to reduce emission which has the potential to expand beyond and affect the decision to buy new cars.   Furthermore, the trend of electric vehicles in Europe may affects Thailand’s export of automobile and automotive parts in the future. Electric vehicles (EVs) are expected to have the largest market impact on Thai automotive industry in the near future

Given the industry trends and contextual factors mentioned above, entrepreneurs, especially SMEs in the automotive and auto parts industries need to keep abreast of the industry trend in order to cope with changes in the near future.
